Sorry I've been so lax on posting here. I've been doing lots of cute updates of the kids on Classy Mommy. It is tough to keep both sites updated. Christmas was wonderful with the extra special gift of a baby Kyle! Mackenzie had a fabulous time running around with her cousins. Not sure where Kyle will fit in next year with all these crazy little girls! Both Nikki and I are of the same mindset when we shop for a Christmas dress - all of the girls fancy outfits are Target! We love their affordable and adorable stuff which is perfect for an outfit you will only be wearing 1-3x!!!!

Kyle's first official outing was when he was about 10 days old and we took him to the Holiday Concert at the Colonial Theater in Phoenixville. He slept through the entire event and did not make a peep.

Baby Boy Arrives with a Bang!

Colleen went to her weekly check-in today only to find that she had dangerously high blood pressure. She was admitted to the hospital around 3pm where she was monitored and told she'd either be induced or have a c-section later tonight. Well, Baby Boy had different plans. He figured since he was already at the hospital, he might as well pop out. Shortly after 6pm, Col started to have distinctly stronger contractions. By 8:15pm she was beginning to push and at 8:36pm Baby Boy popped out naturally. We're still trying to figure out the whole name thing.

Week 37 Pregnancy Update!

Mike promises to update minipadilla ASAP with photos and details on the new baby as soon as possible after the arrival!

I had an appointment today - the latest news is that the doctor "thinks" I'll be having the baby any day now - she said on Thanksgiving! We'll see what happens.....

I'm between 1-2 CM dilated, 75% effaced, and she could actually touch and feel the baby boy's head as it is at ZERO station. The zero station was what impressed her the most and made her think labor was imminent..... we'll see what happens and keep you all posted!

Mackenzie LOVED trick or treating with Daddy and afterwards she adored handing out the candy to our visitors. The Bumble Bee costume turned out to be a big hit after a long summer or her desire to be a Piggy. Luckily, she overcame a 102 fever she had for the past few days to enjoy the night! She also had her 1st taste of a Kit Kat and candy in general. She loved it!

I'm 34 weeks 3 days today ---hard to believe that next Halloween we'll have 2 trick or treaters!

I was 1 cm at my last appointment and the baby has dropped for sure. So we are in the waiting game wondering if it could be any day.... Hopefully it won't be until 36 weeks but at this point the doctors are not overly concerned about it.

Mackenzie's 1st Trip to the Movies

Mackenzie was totally THRILLED with her first trip to the Colonial Theater in Phoenixville. We sat in the upper balcony that has been newly renovated and she adored having her own big girl seat for the movie. She was far less impressed with the movie itself as it was a very independent show of 6 short cartoons for children that were difficult to understand. Her favorite part was absolutely the popcorn!

First Day of Pre-School

Mackenzie did fabulous last week on her first day of school. She loves fingerpainting, coloring, and can't stop talking about feeding the sheep at school pretzels! The frog backpack is a favorite and according to her teachers she keeps it on for half the morning.

Mackenzie loved playing and hanging with her older twin cousins Lindsay and Taylor - and she loved relaxing with some Baby Einstein with their adorable little sis Baby Jordyn. Who is only 7 months younger than Kenzie - but the name Baby has stuck for now! I think this will happen to the BABY BOY too if we can't agree on a name soon!

It is amazing what a difference 2 months can make with childhood fears! Over the 4th of July Kenzie was terrified of the dirt and sand like you cannot possibly imagine! Luckily, that phase seems to have ended!

We arrived at the start of the "dinner" with the Backyardigans at Wegmans - not knowing that you could arrive early to grab your ticket for your minute with Pablo. We were the 90th family so we had a bit of a wait - luckily it was worth it!

We had a fabulous night at St. Peter's Village eating dinner on the patio and hiking along the boulders on French Creek. Thought this would be a very PA place to take Uncle Pete since he is visiting from Florida. We missed Dina lots and hope she'll be able to come next time! Kenzie is already missing "Petey!"

Kenzie loves singing Happy Birthday and was VERY EXCITED to blow out the candles on Daddy's cake. We celebrated Mike's 33rd bday in Sea Isle with Aunt Sandie and Uncle Joe at their beach house. Thanks for the great burgers and letting us stay in your house all week! Mackenzie still keeps saying "Aunt Sandies' house" in a super whine any time she is worried and wants to go home - as this was her escape from the SANDY beach!

Tampa Zoo Adventure!

We scored big when our annual zoo pass to our little local zoo enable us to go to the Tampa Zoo for free! The zoo was amazing given the sunny and warm Florida climate - and it was even voted #1 Zoo in America by Child Magazine. Kenzie's favorite part was the fish and aquarium exhibits. Mom and Dad really like the Giraffes and Elephants.

Mackenzie, Mommy, Daddy, and Nana visited Santa in preparation for Christmas Eve. Kenzie couldn't get enough of Santa and his reindeer. She danced for him and loved sitting in his lap. She played with his jingle bell, the ball on his hat, and loved touching his beard and boots. After the visit with Santa, she bought a ticket to ride on the choo-choo train outside to top off the day.

Mackenzie officially became a "walker" when the plane landed on 11/4 (at 12 1/2 months old). She is still a bit unsteady at times, but is doing a great job getting around and exploring everywhere.

Kenzie is beat at the end of her busy days with Mom and Dad. Swimming lessons, music class, playtime with friends and Cross Country practice at Villa Maria. She winds down at night with a fun bath from Daddy and snuggles into her PJ's. Mike's favorite former boss Tildy gave her this organic sleeper last year when she was born so we'd have something for our 6 pounder to grow into. Thanks Tildy!

Labor Day in Sea Isle

The remnants of Hurricane Ernesto left huge waves in Sea Isle. Luckily, the storm ended early and we still had 2 great days at the beach. Mom ran the Tim Kerr 7 mile island run in Avalon in 51:55. We spent the rest of the trip hanging out with the family and enjoying the waves and sand. Mackenzie was fascinated by her older twin cousins Lindsay and Taylor. And also really enjoyed peeking at little baby Jordyn too.

Solid Food!

Kenzie is slowly making her way to solid foods...... she seems great with the concept. Mom is just terrified of her choking! We mastered Cheerios weeks ago, and this week I finally committed to introducing at least 3-4 true solids each week. We had success today with Carrots, Bananas and 1/4 of a slice of American Cheese. Mackenzie is slowly getting more keen on new textures. Tomorrow we will try eating a real Sweet Potato. (Previously, she rejected all "real" mashed taters.)

Kenzie had a huge week of milestones!

July 8th - Began to sit up on her own from the crawl position. Sitting up in the crib randomly in the middle of the night as she adjusts to her new skills too!

July 9th - Pulls to stand positon on furniture and toys if she is motivated by the objects (fun toys or her bottle!)

July 11th - Clapping all the time! She loves it and especially claps to music

July 12th - Drinking her bottle all by herself

Mike and Col started the day early with the annual Good Neighbor Day 5K in Downingtown. Mike earned 1st as usual in 15:36. Col had a "Mom PR" in 22:08 earning 1st in the 30-34 age group. We ended the day with a BBQ at Nana and Pop Pop's house.
